Gina Biver is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music for chamber ensemble, choir, multimedia, dance, and film. Guitar World, Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazines and others. Rock Scene magazine called her “the best female guitarist in rock today.” Since 1991, she has scored music for television and film, where she has won Cine Golden Eagle, Tele, and International Television and Video (ITVA) Awards.  Over the years her music for film and television has been broadcast across the US and in thirteen Latin American countries.

Gina later studied composition with Steve Antosca and Garrison Hull, completing her Masters in Music at George Mason University.  She has also studied conducting at a Bard College seminar with Apo Hsu.  Gina has been awarded composer grants from The American Music Center and the American Composers Forum, and has been a fellow at the Virginia Community for the Creative Arts (VCCA).  Her electronic composition Skating Still was chosen for the 2006 International 60X60 Project and was performed in New York, Sydney Australia, and across Europe in 2007.  Her work on Temporal Interference, a multimedia project in collaboration with new media artist Bryan Leister and choreographer Jane Franklin was performed in Washington D.C., Denver, Colorado and Puebla, Mexico in 2008. She composed several pieces of music for dance including In Hiding, commissioned by Jane Franklin Dance, which was performed at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in 2007.

Gina is currently the Composer Member and Director of Fuse Ensemble, a new music/new media ensemble based in Washington DC.  Fuse is a concept-based multimedia collaboration between Gina Biver and new media artist Edgar Endress. The ensemble premieres several pieces of new music each year, fusing live music performance, video and live kinetic art installations to create engaging, multifaceted happenings in concert halls, clubs and galleries.
