Bio:

With his recently released album “White Crocodile”, the world premiere of Emaus at Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the world premiere of D.J.Guillaume by The Juilliard Orchestra, Jakub Ciupinski is now working on new compositions fusing classical contemporary music with non-classical genres and live electronics.

He has collaborated with a variety of artists, musicians, choreographers and film directors, including oscar winning director Andrzej Wajda, and at the age of 18 he signed a contract with Sony Music Poland. His electronica-infused world music has been frequently played on Polish radio and aired on music channels such as MTV and VIVA. Mr. Ciupinski’s most extended work up to date, one hour long Oratorio for the Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust for symphony orchestra and two choirs, was premiered in Cracow in 2003. His works have been performed in Poland, France, Italy, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, Canada and the U.S.A.

He has studied with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Christopher Rouse at Juilliard School, Zbigniew Bujarski and Krzysztof Penderecki at Cracow Academy of Music and with Edwin Roxbrough and Joe Cutler at Brimingham Conservatoire.
