Anne Goldberg



Anne Goldberg is the founder and artistic director of the Synthesis Aesthetics Project, a collaborative between musicians, dancers, multimedia and spoken word artists.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wellesley College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a M.M. of Classical Composition at Manhattan School of Music in Marjorie Merryman’s Studio.  In April 2010, Anne presented her undergraduate thesis, composing a contemporary ballet in four movements using acoustic spatialization in combination with visual choreography.  She has since been a guest choreographer at the Boston Center for the Arts and for Modern Discomfort, a modern company based in Boston.  In 2008, she studied composition, oboe, and piano at the Academia Internazionale della Musica in Milan, Italy, under Roberto Andreoni.  Anne is a freelance oboist-English hornist, and was a member of the New England Philharmonic and Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra.  Anne’s music has been premiered in Boston and New York by ensembles such as the Boston New Music Institute, the Firebird Ensemble, and the International Contemporary Ensemble.  In addition to her musical and choreographic pursuits, Anne is professional figure skater, holding gold freestyle, artistry and ice dancing titles in the United States and Canada as well as International ice dancing titles.  She is a member of the Ice Theater of New York, a freelance coach, and was a featured dancer in Boston based dance companies Modern Discomfort, Untyed Stylz Crew, and LBArts Collective.

Robert Honstein



Robert Honstein (b. 1980) is a composer and pianist living in Brooklyn, NY. Praised for his “roiling, insistent orchestral figuration” (New York Times) and described as “dangerously talented,” (New Haven Advocate) Robert’s music has been performed throughout North America by the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, the New York Youth Symphony, the Yale Philharmonia, the Hunter Symphony Orchestra, the Bard College Orchestra, the Norfolk Summer Music Festival, the Fireworks Ensemble, the Young New Yorkers Chorus, the Tosca String Quartet and the UT Austin New Music Ensemble. Recently, Robert co-founded the Correction Line Ensemble, a group of six musicians from pop and classical backgrounds who perform music spanning a wide range of styles and genres. Following a successful inaugural concert that was broadcasted nationally by CBC Radio 2, the Correction Line Ensemble toured Canada, presenting shows throughout Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba. Robert is also a founding member of Sleeping Giant, a New York based collective of emerging composers. Since its inception Sleeping Giant has presented two successful performances at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge. Upcoming projects include commissions from the Hunter Symphony Orchestra and Carnegie Hall for a new chamber work to be premiered by the Academy’s Ensemble ACJW.

Jonathan Price



Jonathan Price is a composer for stage and screen. His most recent musical Lao Jiu: The Musical, featuring a libretto in Mandarin and Chinese dialects, inaugurated The New Drama Centre in Singapore to packed houses and overwhelmingly rave reviews. His latest film scores are for the feature Cyber Wars, released by New Line, and Necrosis, released by American World Pictures. His opera The Lion and the Wood Nymph was a winner of New Opera Works’ OIAM competition.

Jonathan’s music for television has been heard on Showtime, The Discovery Channel, TLC, Oxygen, MTV, PAX, PBS, and Fox. With playwright/lyricist Jeff Goode (The Eight: Reindeer Monologues), he composed the song “The Hubba Hubba Hula” for The Disney Channel’s American Dragon: Jake Long as well as the musical Marley’s Christmas, which was a finalist in the Search for New Voices in American Musical Theatre. Their children’s musical Rumpelstiltskin is published by Baker’s Plays.

His music for film includes the features Necrosis, Cyber Wars, Rustin, and Dark Woods. His work as a soundtrack producer and synthesist can be heard in An Unfinished Life, The Grudge, Runaway Jury, Shade, The Core, The Country Bears, The Shipping News, and Bandits.

He is currently composing the hexaptych opera Æsopera, with libretti by Jeff Goode, Jan Michael Alejandro and the composer, to be presented by The American Composers Forum at The Theatre @ Boston Court in Fall 2011. He is also composing the holiday opera The Christmas Ogre with librettist Jeff Goode, to be produced at The Sierra Madre Playhouse in December 2011.
